One of the first recipes I posted on For the Sake of Good Taste (and a personal all-time favourite) is this buffalo cauliflower sandwich. In a similar vein, I’m a huge fan of buffalo cauliflower wings.
I first made a version of these during my freshman year of college when a friend and I hosted a super bowl party for our larger friend group. I was hooked!
Since then, I’ve tried dozens of different recipes and adapted my own to come up with this one (though let’s be honest, I’ll almost definitely adapt it more!). I’ve made it with fresh and frozen cauliflower florets, store0-bought or homemade buffalo sauce, and with or without the crispy batter. It’s delicious all of these ways!
Buffalo cauliflower wings are perfect for game day and for every day!
- 1 head cauliflower
- 2/3 cup flour
- 1/2 cup water
- dash hot sauce
- 1/2 cup hot sauce
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1 stick vegan butter, melted
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
Preheat oven to 450 F.
Clean cauliflower and cut into florets.
Combine batter ingredients.
Bake for 15-20 minutes until batter turns golden brown.
Combine ingredients for buffalo sauce and coat battered bites.
Return bites to oven for 5-10 minutes or until crispy once again.
